The hidden beauty was still there without any changes or retouch by human hands. However I was much disappointed when I visited the small wine bar again in Idyllwild, Idyll Awhile Wine and Beer Shoppe & Bistro. During the last 4 years the management and ownership were changed twice. The beautiful interior, wall signs, tables, and most importantly, those excellent selection of wines and beers with the delicious foods were all gone. But the new store manager Wendy was so pretty, smart and kind enough to make us happy and smile. Because of her, we really enjoyed the wine and beer tasting session at the bar with a local guy Mike.

『寶王三昧念佛直指』 十大碍行 第十七

一念身不求無病 身無病則貪欲乃生

二處世不求無難 世無難則驕奢必起

三究心不求無障 心無障則所學 等

四立行不求無魔 行無魔則誓願不堅

五謀事不求易成 事易成則志成輕慢

六交情不求益我 情益我則虧失道義

七於人不求順適 人順適則內心自矜

八施德不求望報 德望報則意有所圖

九見利不求霑分 利霑分則癡心必動

十被抑不求申明 抑申明則人我未忘

是故大聖化人以病苦爲良藥. 以患難爲解脫. 以障碍爲逍遙. 以群魔爲法侶. 以事難爲安樂. 以幣交爲資糧. 以逆人爲園林. 以市德爲棄 . 以 利爲富貴. 以受抑爲行門. 如是則居碍反通. 求通反碍. 是以如來於障碍中得菩提道. 至若鴦屈摩羅之輩. 提婆達多之徒. 皆來作逆. 而佛悉與其記. 化令成佛. 彼逆吾之順. 彼毁之成也. 於學道人 若不先居於碍. 則障碍至時莫能排遣. 使法王大寶因玆而失. 可不惜

Do not wish your body not to be sick.
It’s easy for greed to develop if there’s no illness in the body,
So the saint said, “Make medicine as a disease.”

Do not hope that there is no difficulty in the world.
If there is no difficulty in the life of the world, a despised heart and a luxurious heart arise.
So the saint said, Live the world with care and trouble.

Do not wish for your study to be free from disability.
If there are no obstacles in mind, learning will overflow.
So the saint said, “Get liberated from your disability.”

Do not hope that you do not have to do it.
If you do not do it, your vow will not be firm.
So the saint said, “Let all the demons be friends to help you.”

Seek work, but hope not to be easy.
When things are easy, they are put to frivolity.
So the saint said, “Faunt yourself, and accomplish your work.”

Make friends, but don’t want me to be good.
If I want to be good, it hurts my righteousness.
So the saint said, “Let your fellowship be long in purity.”

Do not want others to obey your will.
If others obey me, they will be proud of themselves.
So the saint said, “Make a forest as men who do not fit my will.”

Don’t expect the reward to be merits.
If you wish to get a report, you will have a meaning.
So the saint said, “Let the work of virtue be devoted.”

Do not briskly profit to minutes.
When the profit overflows in minutes, a foolish mind is created,
Therefore the saint said, “Be rich with little gain.”

Do not try to reveal it because you are oppressed.
If you reveal your injustice, you help your resentment,
Hence, the saint said, “Make the door of the work of being rebellious.”

In such a blockage,
To seek forgiveness is to be blocked,
Wherefore, the Buddha obtained barley from that obstacle.

If those who learn the way these days do not endure adversity first, they will not be able to overcome them when they encounter obstacles, and will lose the great treasure of the lord, how sad it will not be!

한글 보왕삼매론

몸에 병 없기를 바라지 말라.
몸에 병이 없으면 탐욕이 생기기 쉽나니,
그래서 성인이 말씀하시되 「병고로써 양약을 삼으라」하셨느니라.

세상살이에 곤란함이 없기를 바라지 말라.
세상살이에 곤란함이 없으면 업신여기는 마음과 사치한 마음이 생기나니,
그래서 성인이 말씀하시되「근심과 곤란으로써 세상을 살아가라」하셨느니라.

공부하는데 마음에 장애 없기를 바라지 말라.
마음에 장애가 없으면 배우는 것이 넘치게 되나니,
그래서 성인이 말씀하시되 「장애 속에서 해탈을 얻으라」하셨느니라.

수행하는데 마(魔)가 없기를 바라지 말라.
수행하는데 마가 없으면 서원이 굳건해지지 못하나니,
그래서 성인이 말씀하시되 「모든 마군으로서 수행을 도와주는 벗을 삼으라」하셨느니라.

일을 꾀하되 쉽게 되기를 바라지 말라.
일이 쉽게 되면 뜻을 경솔한데 두게되나니 ,
그래서 성인이 말씀하시되 「여러 겁을 겪어서 일을 성취하라」하셨느니라.

친구를 사귀되 내가 이롭기를 바라지 말라.
내가 이롭고자 하면 의리를 상하게 되나니
그래서 성인이 말씀하시되 「순결로써 사귐을 길게 하라」하셨느니라.

남이 내 뜻대로 순종해주기를 바라지 말라.
남이 내 뜻대로 순종해주면 마음이 스스로 교만해지나니,
그래서 성인이 말씀하시되 「내 뜻에 맞지 않는 사람들로서 원림을 삼으라」하셨느니라.

공덕을 베풀려면 과보를 바라지 말라.
과보를 바라면 도모하는 뜻을 가지게 되나니,
그래서 성인이 말씀하시되「덕을 베푸는 것을 헌신처럼 버리라」하셨느니라.

이익을 분에 넘치게 바라지 말라.
이익이 분에 넘치면 어리석은 마음이 생기나니,
그래서 성인이 말씀하시되「적은 이익으로서 부자가 되라」하셨느니라.

억울함을 당해서 밝히려고 하지 말라.
억울함을 밝히면 원망하는 마음을 돕게 되나니,
그래서 성인이 말씀하시되「억울함을 당하는 것으로 수행하는 문을 삼으라」하셨느니라.

이와 같이 막히는 데서 도리어 통하는 것이요,
통함을 구하는 것이 도리어 막히는 것이니,
이래서 부처님께서는 저 장애 가운데서 보리도를 얻으셨느니라.

요즘 세상에 도를 배우는 사람들이 만일 먼저 역경에서 견디어 보지 못하면 장애에 부딪칠 때 능히 이겨내지 못해서 법왕의 큰 보배를 잃어버리게 되나니, 이 어찌 슬프지 아니하랴!
